
NVIDIA has announced that the first mobile phone equipped with Tegra 4 chip will be manufactured by ZTE, and we are likely to see this phone in the first half of 2013.
Tegra 4 processor integrates a quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 CPU and 72 units graphics core, as well as an Icera i500 LTE modem, it is one of the first batch Tegra chips that has built-in 4G LTE network support.
The ZTE is more famous in the Chinese mainland, in recent years, the company has also stepped up to develop the U.S. market, so this Tegra 4 phone may be launched in the United States after China. ZTE is the first company announced to launch Tegra 4 phone, but it is unlikely to be the last one.
Furthermore, NVIDIA’s Tegra 4 processor is not the only “next-generation chip”. HTC’s flagship Android smartphone HTC One chooses Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU 600. Samsung Galaxy S IV may use the next generation Samsung Exynos processor.
