HP has not publicly acknowledged that they have given up WebOS, but this company has proven it with practical action, Hewlett-Packard CEO Meg Whitman acknowledged in an interview last Thursday that HP is planning to launch a new smart phone, regardless of Andrews or WP, this new mobile phone operating system will never be WebOS.

While some optimists believe that HP revisiting phone is the WebOS return signal, but this is obviously a wishful thinking, Apotheker had expelled the WebOS team leaders in order to peel WebOS business, and Meg Whiteman has directly fired nearly 500 employees, before HP rebuilds the team, the new smart phone will never run WebOS.

Another evidence is that Whitman confirmed to re-launch the Tablet PC news on HP’s third-quarter earnings conference held in late August, it was thought as the first step of the WebOS regression, but what eventually appeared in North American TV advertising product is HP’s Windows Tablet PC.

HP’s new smartphone should be equipped with the Android system, after all, between Android and WP, the former is with more market influence, this choice is also same with Lenovo , Acer, Dell and other PC makers. Of course, in the future, HP will become a menber of the WP camp, like other PC makers.

The confused management and severe operating condition are the main reasons why Hewlett-Packard has to give up WebOS. It is not easy to create a sound ecological system, and that means a huge risk and investment.

It is difficult to predict what change HP can bring to the mobile phone market, but what change HP can bring to WebOS system can be guessed. The Palm and its team that HP had $1.2 billion to acquire has been completely turned into the abandoned metal scraps after three generations of leaders vacillating. It’s not only unable to create brilliant, evenĀ  it may exit the stage of history.

In a sense WebOS still remains, HP will also introduce the original version product of this operating system at regular intervals, but because of the lack of strong products built, WebOS is like Intel’s abandoned Meego generally which exists in name only.

Of course, if the HP business continues in crisis and when Meg Whitman can fire nobody, perhaps WebOS will be sold to other manufacturers at a cheap price, so that the operating system may revitalize .

AMD company is currently doing preparatory work for the company’s first Tablet PC processor release in the fourth quarter, this processor is named Hondo. Allegedly, this chip uses the same 40-nanometer production process with Brazos2.0. News from AMD vice president Steve Belt confirmed that Hondo will only support an operating system, that is the upcoming officially releasing Windows 8 system.

Hondo with Intel’s Clover Field will become ARM-based processor selected object in late next year. Performance comparison of the two products has not yet been released. But most applications in Windows 8 environment is optimized by DirectX, seen from this point, AMD’s iGPU occupies a certain advantage. However, seen from the power consumption, the 40-nanometer technology is significantly inferior to Intel’s 32-nanometer or 22-nanometer products.

The real comparative results will be known until the release of ARM version Windows 8 system.

There are news that Apple’s “iPad Mini” screen will be 2 inches smaller than the 9.7-inch iPad products, and it’s aimed against Google Nexus 7 and Samsung Electronics Galaxy Tab.

However, market analyst surprised that Amazon not only upgraded the existing Kindle Fire products, but also announced a very aggressive price point, and the 8.9-inch Kindle Fire able to compete with the large screen iPad.

In accordance with Amazon’s plan, the basic version Kindle Fire price is $159, $40 cheaper than the $199 Nexus 7. The high-end Kindle Fire is priced at $499, $230 cheaper than the iPad able to access 4G service. At the same time, according to Kindle Fire cheap data plan, consumers using the service will save $410 each year.

When the vast majority of Apple profits is from the sale of hardware products, Amazon’s business model is completely different – the company provides the hardware subsidies, which is designed to sell more contents and services to users. Amazon’s pricing strategy may attract attention of Apple and other tablet PC manufacturers managements.

The investment bank Sterne Agee said in a report, “We believe that the outcome of the game is that the Amazon’s very aggressive pricing strategy, will cease to profits of the Tablet PC manufacturers except Apple.”

Currently, Amazon has provided consumers with a dozen Kindle choices, from the cheapest $69 e-book reader, to the most expensive $599 64GB version accessable the 4G network Kindle Fire HD. Market analysts said, so many choices may cause confusion among consumers, but it also represents the strong product line.

Kindle Fire HD has not yet accepted evaluation,, and Apple is still ahead of other competitors in the number of applications. But Amazon’s action expressed that the company has launched a product that can compete with the iPad for the Christmas holiday shopping season this year

According to media reports, Amazon said on Friday that the company will allow the new Kindle Fire tablet computer buyers to pay another $15 when buying a product to turn off the built-in advertising.

Amazon announced a larger size Kindle Fire Tablet PC on last Thursday, the price is between 159-599 U.S. dollars, and it’s planned to challenge Apple iPad’s dominance in the tablet market by the low prices and more digital content.

Amazon has said that the new Kindle Fire comes with ad called “special offers”, which is helpful to reduce the cost of the product. After the media reported that Amazon does not allow customers to pay to close the ad, criticism on Amazon flooded major online forums.

Last Saturday, the well-known technology blog, Engadget and technology website CNET reported that Amazon has changed its policy.

Amazon spokesman Kinley Pearsall said in an e-mail, “buyers can choose to turn off the ads feature at price of $15 for the Kindle Fire and the Kindle Fire HD. We learned from users’ feedbacks, users prefer our advertising features, but there are very few people who do not like advertising. And we are willing to provide customers choose right. ”

Amazon announced the Kindle Fire HD without passing the audit of the Federal Communications Commission. But Amazon said the company expects before the release date November 20, the new products will be approved.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer unexpectedly appeared on the Nokia Lumia phone news conference held in New York City on Wednesday. Ballmer said that this year is a Windows year. Apparently, Ballmer wants the world to know that Microsoft will use Windows 8, Windows phone 8 and the Windows RT to reinvent Windows brand.

In the news conference, Ballmer predicted that within a year, the world will have 400 million units Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 hardware products. Windows 8 products include PCs, laptops, tablet PCs and mixer. The Windows Phone 8 products include smartphones.

This really is an ambitious number. However, this figure is certainly feasible, because the PC makers will start on October 26 to install Windows 8 on new PCs. New PC sales growth has slowed, but there will be many new PCs installing Windows 8 in hard drive.

The biggest problem now is how much will be running Windows Phone 8 among the 400 million hardware devices.
